Born in the late 80’s, Marek is a tattooist from Poland. He bought his first coil tattoo machine in 2013, and from 2015  worked as a professional. During this time, he was lucky enough to work in  countries like Malta, Poland, Vietnam and Cambodia, where he stayed for few years working in beautiful tattoo studio in a middle of paradise.

He is currently in his 4th year living and working here in Ireland. His tattooing style has evolved over the years, gradually incorporating his other passions—such as paleobiology, geology, history, and paleoart, although these are just a few amongst many.

He likes to tattoo skulls, skeletons, snakes, birds and any other animals. He feels most comfortable with dark, graphic style, fine line or bold. Since October 2024 he has been a part of the team at Smiley Dogg Tattoo in Cork, surrounded by amazing artists from all around the world.

Skull Tattoos in Cork & Ireland

How Much Does a Skull Tattoo Cost in Ireland?

The cost of a skull tattoo in Ireland can vary depending on several factors, including the size of the design, the level of detail, placement on the body, and the experience of the tattoo artist. Small, simple skull tattoos may start from a lower price range, while larger, highly detailed or custom pieces can require multiple sessions and a higher investment. For an accurate quote, it is always best to book a consultation at Smiley Dogg Tattoo Studio in Cork. Their experienced artists can assess your idea and provide a tailored price based on your design and expectations.

What Is a Black Fine Line vs Bold Tattoo?

A black fine line tattoo is created using very thin, precise lines, resulting in a delicate, subtle, and often minimalist aesthetic. This style requires a high level of skill and attention to detail, making it ideal for intricate designs. In contrast, a bold black tattoo features thick lines, strong contrasts, and solid fills. This approach creates a more striking and long-lasting visual impact, often associated with traditional and graphic tattoo styles. Both styles can be adapted to suit skull tattoos, depending on whether you prefer a refined or more intense look.

How Can You Enhance the Darkness of a Tattoo Naturally?

Attempting to significantly darken a tattoo through natural methods is not recommended, as it can damage both the skin and the design. Instead, to maintain and enhance the appearance of your black or dark tattoo, follow these best practices:
  • Keep the skin well moisturised daily
  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure
  • Always use high-factor sunscreen
  • Maintain healthy skin with gentle exfoliation
These steps help preserve contrast, clarity, and overall quality over time.

What Causes Tattoo Ink to Fade Over Time?

All tattoos naturally fade over time due to several factors, although proper care can slow the process. Common causes include:
  • Sun exposure (UV damage)
  • Skin ageing and regeneration
  • Poor aftercare during healing
  • Dehydrated or damaged skin
  • Low-quality ink or application
Even though black ink is generally more durable, it can still lose intensity without proper care. Whether you have a skull tattoo, snake tattoo, or animal tattoo, consistent aftercare is essential to maintain sharpness and depth. Using high-quality tattoo aftercare products and following your artist’s advice will help keep your tattoo looking bold and well-defined for years.

Why Choose a Skull Tattoo?

A skull tattoo is a timeless design often associated with themes such as mortality, strength, transformation, and resilience. Whether done in fine line or bold blackwork, it remains one of the most versatile and impactful tattoo choices.
