First 24-48 Hours
➕ Leave the bandage on for the time recommended by your artist (typically 2-4 hours). If using a second-skin-style wrap, follow the specific instructions given.
➕ Wash your hands before touching your tattoo.
➕ Gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap. Pat dry with a clean paper towel—don’t rub.
➕ Apply a thin layer of a recommended tattoo aftercare cream (such as Aloe Tattoo or Bepanthen). Avoid thick layers.
Days 2-14: Healing Phase
➕ Keep it clean—wash gently twice a day.
➕ Apply aftercare cream in a thin layer 2-3 times a day.
➕ Avoid scratching or picking—peeling and itching are normal, but let it heal naturally.
➕ Stay out of pools, hot tubs, and the ocean—submerging your tattoo can cause infections.
➕ Avoid direct sunlight—keep it covered and out of UV rays.
Weeks 2-6: Long-Term Care
➕ Moisturise daily to prevent dryness and help healing.
➕ Avoid tight clothing over the tattoo to prevent irritation.
➕ No sun exposure—once healed, always use SPF 30+ on your tattoo to prevent fading.
➕ Stay hydrated and eat well—good skin health helps tattoo healing.
